Enrollment & Classes

1. How do I enroll my child in BrightThinkers Academy?

Enrolling is simple. Visit our website, complete the enrollment form, and take our diagnostic assessment to determine the most suitable level for your child. Once that’s done, you can proceed with the payment and receive the onboarding details.

2. Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a one-time registration fee of $50 for new students.

3. Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes! We offer one paid trial lesson per student. If the student enrolls after the trial, the trial fee will be deducted from their first month’s tuition fee.

4. What do students receive when they first sign up?

Every new student will receive a Welcome Package, which includes:

  • A Report Book for progress tracking

  • A File to keep worksheets organized

  • Stationery essentials for their learning journey

5. What subjects do you offer?

We specialize in English for Primary, Secondary, and Corporate-level students.
For private classes, we offer additional subjects across all levels, including:

  • Math

  • Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)

  • Geography/History

  • Accounting
     

6. How many students are there per class?

  • General Knowledge Seminar Classes & Mock Exam Sessions: Maximum of 50 students

  • Group Classes: Maximum of 15 students

  • Private 1-to-1 Classes: One student per session
     

7. What types of lessons do you offer?

We have three main English lesson categories:

  1. Reading, Listening & Oral – Focuses on pronunciation, comprehension, and oral communication.

  2. Language Mastery – Covers grammar, vocabulary, synthesis, editing, cloze passages, and comprehension.

  3. Creative Writing – Develops storytelling skills, critical writing, and argumentation for older students.

Students are strongly advised to sign up for at least two out of the three components.

We also have 2 types of specialised classes:

  1. General Knowledge Classes

  2. Mock Exam Sessions

8. How are the classes conducted?

All classes are live and conducted on Zoom to ensure interactive learning and real-time feedback.

9. What is the class duration?

Each class lasts two hours.

10. What happens if my child misses a class?

  • We offer make-up lessons, but they must be attended within the same week of the missed class.

  • Missed lessons cannot be carried forward beyond that week.

  • Each student is allowed up to 2 make-up lessons per term (except in special cases).

  • If a student misses too many lessons, a private catch-up session will be chargeable.
     

11. What if my child is going on holiday?

  • Parents must inform us at least 7 days in advance if their child will miss a lesson due to travel.

  • Makeup classes must still be attended within the same week.

  • Students who miss lessons without prior notice will not be eligible for make-up sessions.

12. How are assignments handled?

  • Reading, Listening & Oral and Language Mastery Assignments: Students will do self-marking, and we will go through the answers in class.

  • Creative Writing & Mock Exam Sessions: Students will take a picture of their work and submit it at the end of class for teacher feedback.
     

13. How often are worksheets provided?

Worksheets are provided weekly or fortnightly before the lesson.
 

14. How are worksheets sent to students?

Worksheets will be sent out to parents every week or every fortnight via digital copies.
If parents prefer physical copies to be printed and mailed to them, they can opt for this service for a small monthly fee.

15. When are report books and result slips given out?

Report books and printed result slips are issued at the end of every term:

  • End of March

  • End of June

  • End of September

  • End of December

📬 Results slips will be printed and mailed to you.

16. What is included in the report?

For Creative Writing, students will receive composition reports along with detailed statistics on their compositions to track their progress.

17. What are the expectations for students in class?

BrightThinkers Academy is a prestigious academy with a long waiting list, so we expect students to show commitment, discipline, and respect in every lesson.

  • Commitment to Excellence:

    • Students must be punctual, prepared, and engaged in every lesson.

  • Homework Policy:

    • All assignments must be completed on time.

    • Consistently incomplete work may affect a student’s eligibility to continue in the program.

  • Behavior & Attitude:

    • Students must be respectful and non-disruptive.

    • Any persistent behavioral issues will result in warnings, and in severe cases, the student may be removed from the program.

  • Class Participation:

    • Active participation is encouraged.

    • This includes speaking during discussions, completing exercises, and applying feedback.
       

We take academic discipline seriously to ensure a productive and enriching learning environment.

Classroom Conduct & Expectations

18. How much are the tuition fees?

Fees range from $200+ per month, depending on the class type and structure.

19. When is payment due?

Payments are monthly and must be made before the start of each month.

20. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express (Amex)

  • Wise Transfers

  • SG QR Code Payments: PayNow, PayLah

21. Do you offer discounts?

Yes! We offer a discount for students who sign up for a longer-term commitment or multiple classes.

22. Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, but we require a minimum commitment of three months. After this period, you can cancel your subscription before the next billing cycle.

23. Is there an option for auto-payment?

Yes! You can set up a monthly subscription to have payments deducted automatically.

Students should have:

  • A stable internet connection

  • A laptop or tablet with a webcam and microphone

  • A quiet study space
